Drivers Reports
At Byrne’s Opticians we offer consultations for both Group 1 and Group 2 licence holders.
Below is a link to the NDLS website with regards to whether you need to submit an eyesight report or not when you are applying for your licence:

We have the forms in practice, so you don’t need to bring one with you to the appointment.
Colour Vision Testing
Colour blindness, also known as colour deficiency, occurs when an individual doesn’t see colours (generally the difference between two colours) in a normal way. And it’s actually fairly common — 8% of men and 0.5% of women have some form of colour blindness.
If you are colour deficient, then you know how tricky it can be to adapt within this color-coded world. But just because you see colours a bit differently, doesn’t mean you can’t live a colourful life!
We offer full colour vision testing which is usually necessary for certain employment such as Electician or Pilot. We use the gold standard which is the Ishihara Colour Vision test. We also offer colour vision testing as part of our eye examination especially for our younger patients. It’s a very easy test where you have to call out numbers that you see on a page infront of you. We can then discuss the results with you.
