Presbyopia
What is Presbyopia
This term mainly describes why people, generally over 40, require glasses to read up close such as their phone or the paper. It is the gradual loss of the eye’s ability to change its focus to see objects that are near. It is a normal process in the aging eye.
Some of the signs of Presbyopia are:

-Holding books/papers/phones further away to see them clearly.
-Needing more light to see near objects clearly.
-Using increased font size on phones.
Presbyopia can be corrected with:
-glasses (such as single vision reading glasses, office lenses and varifocals)
-contact lenses (multifocals, monovision)
